With Champagne flowing and canapés served courtesy of The Lazy Cow, over eighty guests attended the party to hear of this year’s plans for a business event which is set to be the talk of the town.
Melanie Murell of the Salisbury and District Chamber of Commerce kicked the evening off with an introduction to the show, expressing the Chamber’s delight at the involvement of award-winning marketing and events company TWA in the organisation of this, the ninth South Wilts Business EXPO.

TWA Director Ed Thomas followed, informing the audience of plans for a show that promises to be “bigger and better than ever before”, with a jam-packed programme and range of opportunities to help people in and around South Wiltshire grow their business.
With the first exhibitors appearing on the event website (www.southwiltsexpo.biz) at the time of the launch, one hundred regional businesses will be represented at the show, which expects to draw in record numbers with the range of guest speakers, networking opportunities and special offers arranged – all of which are completely free to those wishing to attend the event.
As part of the celebrations of the Chamber’s centenary, fifty specially purchased archived images were introduced depicting Salisbury over the last hundred years, which sparked much interest for those taking advantage of a special banner stand offer which runs until the end of the month.
In addition, Cartoonist and EXPO speaker Graham Shaw presented Kirstie Mathieson of the Salisbury Playhouse with a dinner for two at The Lazy Cow, having drawn her name in a prize draw during the party.
The evening was a huge success, with a buzzing atmosphere and much excitement about the launch of a fantastic new event which promises to increase the prominence of Salisbury on the business map.

The Salisbury and District Chamber of Commerce celebrates its centenary year in 2011 and – and with all that’s planned, the Chamber want to ensure that this year’s EXPO is something to really write home about, so they’ve brought in award-winning event management team TWA to create a new-look Expo which knocks all other business events out of the water.
Combined with Chamber's knowledge, experience and skill, TWA are working hard to provide Salisbury businesses with some fantastic opportunities to generate fresh leads and expand their horizons. Not only that, but together, we’ll be creating a once in a lifetime event to celebrate 100 years of trading, as well as looking at how YOU can really shine in those to come.
With extensive media coverage arranged with partners Spire FM and Salisbury Journal, as well as a huge publicity campaign stretching across the county and beyond, the cost of a stand starts at just £249+VAT (for those with a Chamber member discount) - but the worth of advertising, promotional activity and new business leads has been valued at a whopping £6000. So for local companies, investing in this event means investing in your future.
Set upon the theme of ‘Grow your business’, the event will feature a Vector workshop, courtesy of Bonallack & Bishop, where companies can learn how to increase the value of their business. In addition, the keynote speaker will be local entrepreneur and millionaire Lara Morgan, and guest speakers include motivational business coach Antonio Falco, illustrator and presenter Graham Shaw, and business development expert Dave Griffin. All are free to attend and present invaluable opportunities to those who wish to expand their horizons, and their enterprise’s potential.
The EXPO will provide a chance for exhibitors and visitors to network and cement their presence in the region. The day is set to be packed with 100th birthday celebrations – including some fantastic seminars, the presence of over 100 businesses and, of course, a nice big cake (with lots of candles).
This event follows the successes of the Andover Business Expo and the North Hants Business Expo, and the formula looks set to be hugely popular in South Wilts, with exhibitors and visitors from all over Hampshire and Wiltshire showing a huge interest in attending the latest event.
Don’t miss this EXPO. You’ll regret it if you do.
With over fifty stands available, those interested in exhibiting are encouraged to act quickly and book their place now.
Andover-based marketing company TWA have announced that they will now be managing the South Wiltshire Business EXPO on behalf of the Salisbury & District Chamber of Commerce, which takes place at Salisbury's City Hall on 27th September 2011.
Having recently hosted their first North Hants Expo and their third Andover Expo, and seeing a huge success at both with over 1500 people through the doors, TWA are bringing their business event expertise to South Wiltshire this autumn.
In the format of previous Expos, the team are planning a day that's packed with seminars, networking sessions and presentations, an array of business stands, and a high-profile guest speaker.
TWA's Director, Ed Thomas, says:
"We look forward to bringing a fresh new look to the EXPO in its ninth year, reaching out to businesses not only in Salisbury, but further afield too. We aim to create an event which provides the chance for people to network and generate some promising leads for the future.
"The South Wiltshire EXPO has a huge amount of potential and with our proven formula; we hope to replicate the success of Andover and North Hants in South Wiltshire."
Incoming President of the Salisbury & District Chamber of Commerce, Melanie Murrell added, "We're very excited about TWA's involvement with the EXPO. It's fantastic that such an experienced company is going to be leading the event and we're looking forward to all the opportunity that this is going to bring to local businesses."
Loretta Lupi-Lawrence, Executive Officer at the Salisbury & District Chamber said, "The Chamber office has been running this highly-anticipated annual business event for eight years now and we are thrilled about handing over the reins to TWA, who will be able to inject a fresh look and some exciting new ideas.
"We are a non profit-making organisation and this fact has made it harder to give the EXPO that little extra of what it needs. We are 100% behind TWA and look forward to working with them - and of course, Salisbury & District Chamber will still be running the very popular 'Meet the Buyer' event at the EXPO. All details for both EXPO and 'Meet the Buyer' will be viewable on our website at www.salisburychamber.co.uk."
With over fifty stands available for local businesses, those interested in exhibiting are encouraged to act quickly and book their place now.
